The Lincolnshire League starts today and after Cleethorpes Town were promoted,
The league begins with 18 teams one less than a day ago following the sad withdrawal Swineshead Institute, hopefully they will return to the league in coming seasons, anyway looking forward what will this seasons competition bring.
Boston Town Reserves: Moved from the UCL reserve league back into the Lincolnshire League after 2 year absence expected to be mainly a young side but you can not rule out the appearance of senior players so there could be some surprise results over the season
Boston United Reserves: New Manager this season who will be looking to win the title again with what is technically the clubs development squad, again will see players from their senior squad as the need arises
CGB Humbertherm: Been in the league a number of years and you never quite know what you will get one day they can produce outstanding results the next the results will not be good
Cleethorpes Town Reserves: Ultilising last years squad players from the championship winning team plus players have been added by new management team who have moved from near neighbours who did well for Grimsby Borough Reserves last season, possible repeat finish on the cards at Cleethorpes
Gainsborough Town: New boys to the league rich pedigree of league titles over the last few years, could be surprise package of the season, look well organised on and off the field something that will stand them in good stead for the coming season
Grimsby Borough Reserves: New management in place hard to predict a team where the objective is to prepare players to play at higher level and if that is a success then the hunger should be their all season
Heckington United: In their 3rd season in the league know hard to predict how they will do strong at home but can struggle away
Horncastle Town: A side that is very strong at the Wong their home ground, can find it hard on the road at times but the side has some quality players and on their day can beat anyone
Hykeham Town: Poor season last season compared to previous ones will be hoping to bounce back this year but they may find that a struggle
Lincoln Moorlands Railway Reserves: Struggled last year and there is nothing to say that this season will be any different
Lincoln United Reserves: Very strong at home something that has been noticeable over the last few seasons, away form can be indifferent last years players who where new to this level should be stronger and will be looking to push on this year
Louth Town Reserves: More of the same from last season expected where it depends on the how the first team is set up to what kind of side is fielded, on their day can beat anyone and not on their day capable of taking a thumping
Market Rasen Town – 2nd season last year the season was hit by off the field issues, will be looking to improve on last season
Nettleham – Strong team and capable of good results against the stronger sides, expect them being in the mix at the end of the season. As they seek to re-establish themselves.
Ruston Sports – Another season of struggle on the cards unless they can stop conceding those silly goals that proved costly last season.
Skegness Town – Hard season for the lilywhites last season, new management in place for this season. Who will be looking to push the club on again to be able to challenge at the top again and regain the upper hand on their neighbours.
Skegness United – after last years debut season where they could not overcome Cleethorpes Town they will be fancying their chances this season. With there cup success they will have the confidence and belief that it will be their year
Sleaford Town Reserves – likely to be struggle again for the side which is mainly made up of young players and at times it was hard last year especially against the top teams which included a 14 – 0 loss at Cleethorpes so things can only improve surely.
